Commonly required: income statement or payment summary, bank interest statements, private health insurance certificate, investment income records (dividends, managed funds), rental property statements, and work-related expense receipts. We send all new clients a tailored checklist once you book.
Self-lodgers must file by 31 October. As a registered tax agent, Primus Tax has access to an extended lodgement program — most clients can lodge well into the following year. Contact us before 31 October to be included, even if you're not ready to lodge yet.
Yes — we regularly help clients with multiple years of outstanding returns. As a registered tax agent we can negotiate with the ATO, request penalty remission, and lodge all outstanding returns efficiently. The sooner you act, the better the outcome.
You can generally claim expenses directly related to earning your income and not reimbursed by your employer. Common claims include: home office expenses, work travel, tools and equipment, professional memberships, self-education, uniforms, and phone and internet costs. We ensure you claim everything you're entitled to.
BAS & GST
BAS lodgement frequency depends on your annual GST turnover. Businesses over $20M lodge monthly. Most small businesses lodge quarterly. Turnover under $75,000 may lodge annually. We'll advise the correct frequency and ensure you never miss a deadline.
You must register if your annual turnover is $75,000 or more ($150,000 for non-profits). Taxi and rideshare drivers must register regardless of turnover. We can assess your situation and handle the registration for you.
SMSF
An SMSF can offer greater control and flexibility — but comes with significant legal and administrative responsibilities. As a general guide, an SMSF starts to make financial sense with a balance around $200,000 or more. We provide objective advice on whether an SMSF is right for your circumstances.
Every SMSF must: prepare annual financial statements, lodge an SMSF annual return, have the fund independently audited, meet minimum pension payment requirements (if in pension phase), and maintain a current investment strategy. We manage all of these on your behalf.
Fees & Process
We provide a fixed-fee quote upfront — so you always know the cost before we begin. No surprise charges, no hidden costs. We agree on the fee before proceeding.
